Monday, June 24: Anglers are landing a few SPOT, BLUEFISH, BLACK SEA BASS, CROAKER, FLOUNDER, TRIGGERFISH, BLACK DRUM and SEA MULLET. Junior camp counselor Grayson Lewis, of Manteo, NC, caught a nice SHEEPSHEAD (pictured) around lunchtime. Mostly sunny, wind SE 10-15 mph. Basically flat and glassy, water temp 70 degrees. Low tide 7:03 a.m. and 7:28 p.m. High tide 1:11 p.m.
Friday, June 21: Just some SEA MULLET this morning. Bright sunshine, wind W 15-20 mph. Flat and glassy, water temp 59 degrees on the bottom and 61 degrees in the surf. Low tide 5:01 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. High tide 10:56 a.m. and 11:09 p.m.

Wednesday, June 19: A slow and steady morning with an ANGEL SHARK, TRIGGERFISH, SHEEPSHEAD, small FLOUNDER, SPOT and SEA MULLET. Storms passing to the south have cleared for now, wind SW less than 5 mph. Flat and glassy, water temp 64 degrees. High tide 9:32 a.m. and 9:49 p.m. Low tide 3:33 p.m. The Fritz Boyden Memorial Youth Fishing Tournament is on from 8:00 a.m. - noon today at Jennette's, Outer Banks, Nags Head and Avalon Fishing Piers.
Tuesday, June 18: Slow again thanks to the upwelling. Anglers have decked a few SPOT, CROAKER, SEA MULLET and SAND PERCH. Bright sunshine, wind SW 15 mph. Flat and glassy, water temp down to 60 degrees at the bottom and 63 degrees in the surf. High tide 8:50 a.m. and 9:08 p.m. Low tide 2:50 p.m.
Monday, June 17: Slow fishing with just a few SEA MULLET, SPOT, CROAKER, small FLOUNDER, small BLACK DRUM and PIGFISH. There was also a beach nourishment project CRAB sighting south of the pier this morning. Mostly sunny, wind SW 10-15 mph. Flat and glassy, water temp 64 degrees. High tide 8:06 a.m. and 8:27 p.m. Low tide 2:06 p.m.
Friday, June 14: Nice morning with overcast skies and small surf. Water temp 70. So far POMPANOS. Wind NW at 14 knots. Low tide 11:48 a.m. High tide 5:39 p.m. The entire Pier is open for business.
Thursday, June 13: Early morning showers have stopped and the sun is trying to peak through the cloud cover. A mixed bag of catches so far -- BLUES off the end, SEA MULLET. SPOT, GRAY TROUT one POMPANO on shrimp and one short SPECKLED TROUT. Water temp 71 with clean breaking large surf. Wind W at 14 knots. Friday, June 7: Lots of bait in the water. Anglers are catching nice BLUEFISH at the end and a few SEA MULLET on the inside. A keeper SPECKLED TROUT got away at 8:00 a.m. David, from Winchester, VA, caught a 16-inch SHEEPSHEAD at 8:15 a.m. Cloudy with rain forecast, wind WSW 5-10 mph. Tiny, glassy swell, water temp 64 degrees. High tide 11:15 a.m. and 11:36 p.m. Low tide 5:22 p.m. Portions of the Pier will be closed for regular maintenance on the wind turbines beginning on TUESDAY, JUNE 11, weather permitting. Thursday, June 6: Several SEA MULLET, SHEEPSHEAD and CROAKER close to the beach with a few scattered BLUEFISH near the end. Sunny, hot and humid, wind SW 15 mph. Flat and cold, water temp 64 degrees. High tide 10:21 a.m. and 10:41 p.m. Low tide 4:25 p.m.
Wednesday, June 5: Scattered BLUEFISH, POMPANO, SPOT, NORTHERN PUFFER, SPADEFISH, PINFISH, SPANISH MACKEREL, SEA MULLET and PIGFISH. A very small COBIA hit a Got-Cha plug around lunchtime and was quickly released. Fishing has slowed in the afternoon. Hazy, hot and humid, wind SSW 20-30 mph. Flat seas with surface chop, water temp 73 degrees. High tide 9:31 a.m. and 9:49 p.m. Low tide 3:33 p.m.
Tuesday, June 4: A lot of variety today. A good run of BLUEFISH and SPADEFISH this afternoon with some PIGFISH, POMPANO, TRIGGERFISH, SEA MULLET, small GRAY TROUT and small FLOUNDER mixed in. Partly sunny, wind NE 5-10 mph. Glassing off with clear conditions, water temp 72 degrees. High tide 8:43 a.m. and 9:01 p.m. Low tide 2:44 p.m.
Monday, June 3: Windy, choppy and overcast. Fish good to start with BLUES, two small COBIAS, small SPECKLED TROUT, POMPANO, small FLOUNDER, SKATES and RAYS. Wind N at 23 knots. Water temp 74 degrees. High tides 7:57 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. Low tide 1:58 p.m. Ron caught some beautiful POMPANOS this morning.

Friday, May 31: An osprey snagged a nice SPECKLED TROUT right beside the Pier, but anglers haven't been so lucky. One SEA MULLET was finally decked at 11:00 a.m. and a small FLOUNDER followed soon after. Partly sunny and not as hot, wind NW 5-10 mph. Flat and glassy, water temp is 64 degrees on the bottom and 67 degrees at the surface. High tide 5:40 a.m. and 6:03 p.m. Low tide 11:46 a.m.
Thursday, May 30: Hot and beautiful today. So far, just a few BLUES and TRIGGERFISH. Water temp 71 degrees and the sea is flat. Low tides 11:02 a.m. and 11:49 p.m. High tide 5:19 p.m. Winds have shifted to the S at 10-15 mph.
Wednesday, May 29: After a slow start fishing is picking up with some BLUEFISH, SEA MULLET, PUFFERS and a small FLOUNDER. Mostly sunny and steamy, wind W 10-15 mph. Small glassy swell, water temp 73 degrees. Low tide 10:17 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. High tide 4:32 p.m.
Tuesday, May 28: Beautiful morning at the oceanfront! Water temp up to 75 degrees! So far, BLUES, SPANISH MACKEREL, PUFFERS SEA MULLET and small FLOUNDER. Low tides 9:31 a.m. and 10:07 p.m. High tide 3:43 p.m. Wind S at 16 knots. Nate Tanner of South Mills caught a cobia over the holiday weekend.

Fishing has turned on this morning with anglers steadily landing keeper SPECKLED TROUT, SPANISH MACKEREL, BLUEFISH, nice-sized SEA MULLET, FLOUNDER, CROAKER, SPOT and BURRFISH. Sunny and cool, wind NE 20 mph. Choppy surface conditions with hazy green water, water temp 68 degrees. High tide 10:40 a.m. and 10:58 p.m. Low tide 4:42 p.m.

Saturday, May 18: Partly Cloudy and Warm this morning with an air temp 70 degrees and water temp 66 degrees. Winds SW 8 knots. AM Tides: High 7:40 and PM Tides: High 8:03, Low 1:47. Water is crystal clear. Small surf this morning. Several people out fishing this morning. They are catching Blues, sm Croaker, sm Spot sm Gray Trout, Speckled Trout, Atlantic Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel.
Friday, May 17: Scattered BLUEFISH and BURRFISH with the first TRIGGERFISH of the season. Partly sunny, wind SSW 10-15 mph. Glassy with an occasional wave, water temp 66 degrees. High tide 6:53 a.m. and 7:16 p.m. Low tide 12:59 p.m. A nice Spanish mackerel was caught yesterday.
Thursday, May 16: An 18" COBIA was caught and quickly released just before 9:00 a.m. Otherwise, anglers are landing some BLUEFISH, BURRFISH, small FLOUNDER, SEAMULLET and a few SPANISH MACKEREL. Sunny, wind SW 10 mph. Glassy, long period swell, water temp 66 degrees. High tide 6:01 a.m. and 6:27 p.m. Low tide 12:11 p.m.
Wednesday, May 15: An angler landed a keeper FLOUNDER just before 3:00 p.m. A really nice BLACK DRUM was decked around lunchtime by Stowe Spratt of Monroe, NC. Some BLUEFISH, small FLOUNDER and BURRFISH were caught this morning. Sunny and cool, wind light E. Weak windswell, water temp 66 degrees. Low tide 11:21 a.m. High tide 5:35 p.m.
Tuesday, May 14: A good BLUEFISH bite with some SPANISH MACKEREL and a few nice-sized SEA MULLET. Partly cloudy and cooler, wind N 10 mph. Textured NE swell, water temp 62 degrees. Low tide 10:27 a.m. and 11:03 p.m. High tide 4:39 p.m.
Monday, May 13: NOON update - Anglers are decking some nice SEA MULLET, PUFFERS, BURRFISH, CROAKER, small FLOUNDER and some keeper SPECKLED TROUT. Some clouds and sun mixed in, wind N 5-10 mph. Jumbled NE swell, water temp 58 degrees on the inside and 60 degrees at the end. Low tide 9:29 a.m. and 9:59 p.m. High tide 3:38 p.m.
Saturday, May 11: Cloudy and Warm this morning with an air temp 71 degrees and water temp 60 degrees. Winds SW 7 knots. AM Tides: High 12:43, Low 7:26 and PM Tides: High 1:24, Low 7:36. Water is muddy. Small surf this morning. A few people out fishing this morning. They are catching SEA MULLET, sm GRAY TROUT and sm SPOT.
Friday, May 10: Some nice looking SEA MULLET, small CROAKER, small SPANISH MACKEREL and a few BLUEFISH today. A mix of clouds and sun, wind S 15-20 mph. Swell is still hanging in there, water temp 66 degrees. Low tide 6:27 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. High tide 12:22 p.m.
Thursday, May 9: A steady SEA MULLET bite with some scattered BLUEFISH, SPANISH MACKEREL, GRAY TROUT, PINFISH. This afternoon things have slowed with mostly BURRFISH. Sunny and pleasant, wind E 5-10 mph. Still a nice groundswell rolling in, water temp 65 degrees on the bottom and 68 degrees at the surface. High tide 11:24 a.m. and 11:46 p.m. Low tide 5:29 p.m.
Wednesday, May 8: Scattered BLUEFISH and a few PUFFERS. A 30" COBIA was released around noon. That's the first of the year. Small GRAY TROUT in the afternoon. Sunny and warm, wind light SE. Beautiful, clean, green NE swell, water temp up to 66 degrees. High tide 10:33 a.m. and 10:52 p.m. Low tide 4:36 p.m.
Tuesday, May 7: A strong BLUEFISH bite early has faded a bit. A 23" SPANISH MACKEREL was decked early too. Sunny and warmer, wind NE 5-10 mph. Pretty, green swell, water temp 61 degrees. High tide 9:47 a.m. and 10:03 p.m. Low tide 3:48 p.m.
Monday, May 6: Some small BLUEFISH, SPOT, SEA MULLET, GRAY & SPECKLED TROUT. Fishing is slow and scattered. Cloudy and much cooler, wind N 20 mph. Building windswell with a sweeping current, water temp 57 degrees. High tide 9:04 a.m. and 9:19 p.m. Low tide 3:05 p.m.
Saturday, May 4: Sunny, and warm this morning with an air temp 70 degrees and water temp 58 degrees. Winds SW 6 knots. AM Tides: High 7:46, and PM Tides: High 8:02, Low 1:49. Water is Green. Very small surf this morning. A few people out fishing this morning. Blues, Speckled Trout, and Sea Mullet are been caught.

Fairly flat and glassy, water temp 59 degrees. High tide 7:03 a.m. and 7:20 p.m. Low tide 1:10 p.m. Jessica Edenbeck of Roanoke Rapids caught a nice SEA MULLET.
